The housing is a beautiful Gutta Percha/Thermoplastic Union Hard Frame Case with original mat, binding and, I believe, glass. This is a frame and not a hinged case. The tintype is a fantastic, full length portrait of the Soldier standing with his hands on the hilt of his sword which is standing upright before him. He's in full uniform with regulation pants, jacket, hat, belt and boots.
There is a mark on the lower left which you can see in the photo and some spotting. The Union Case is well preserved and damage free. It is a dark chocolate brown color. The original gold matting is in very nice condition with wonderfully intricate scroll work.Your business is greatly appreciated. I try my best to provide a high level of service and response for all my auctions. If for some reason you are not happy with something, please let me know and I will do my best to address the situation. Thank you for your business.
