Case measures 3" x 3-1/2". Envelope w/ stamp, mailed from Cumberland on October 22nd, 1862. Letter home dated October 21st, 1862 from DeFord to his mother.
Letter home dated September 18th, 1863 from DeFord to his mother. Shorter note that references hearing cannon fire in the distance from Culpepper. A nice collection of Civil War items from the same soldier! Please let me know if you have any questions.
