Antique 1/9 Plate Ambrotype Glass Photo of Civil War Military Officer Soldier

If I have made a mistake, I would appreciate being corrected. A nice Ebayer informed me that this. Iis a 1/9 plate ambrotype. Think the photo is in relatively good condition but there is damage around the edge when it is taken out of the case. The oval measures 1 1/2 by 2 inches and I believe the image is on glass.

When I look at the side, it has the look of the side of a mirror. The case is in rough shape, as you can see from the photographs. Thank you for your interest.
