Up for sale is this rather rare antique Civil War era pocket sized book, Hymns and Tunes for the Army and Navy. The book is undated, but my research points to a printing date of around 1863.

It has paper backed cloth covers. The covers have some moderate soiling and wear with some curling to the corners.

There is a small gutter tear towards the bottom of the title page about an inch in length as well as a tiny horizontal tear. The interior is lightly toned from age with some scattered light dampstaining, light foxing and some soiling/grubbiness. Along with that there is the occasional page with some kind of other small imperfection such as, tiny chip or tear, creased page corner, minor interior crack etc. The book measures approximately 4 3/8 inches by 2 7/8 inches.
