CIRCA 1860's CIVIL WAR 6th PLATE TINTYPE ARMED UNION SOLDIER. Offered is a Civil War 6th plate tintype of a armed Union Soldier. This is a 3/4 length studio view of the soldier. Housed in a pressed wood case.

Really nice detail on the image. A few noted bends in the main body of the image.

There is some surface wear in a few spots. It looks like there was gold gilt added to the breast plate and belt, but came off; taking some of the emulsion with it. Case shows typical wear with functional latch and hook. Please see all images for details. I've been listing from several hundred images of Civil War images.
