Civil War Soldier Tinted Tintype in Union Case, Quarter Plate 5-Cent Tax Stamp
Quarter-plate tinted tintype of soldier with 5-cent cancelled revenue stamp on verso. Housed in a thermoplastic case (Berg 1-45, Lyre in Wide Portal on one side and Berg 1-33, The Lord's Prayer on the other side).

The tintype is without bends or emulsion problems. The case has a chip at one corner and cracks by the hinges making it only slightly loose but works well. The image is no doubt not original to this case as it has some space at top and in order to keep the image from falling out there is a piece of cardboard to fill the space.
