This is a wonderful image of a handsome young Union soldier. It is a 9th-plate tintype. It is housed in a full Littlefield Parsons Thermoplastic case.

The tintype is crisp and clean with no scratches flaking or blistering. The case is strong and good with sturdy brass hinges and no breakage to the clasp. The green velvet pillow is whole and clean. The whole assembly is in excellent antique condition. The young man has no ID.
