5th, 1861 with 49th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regt. K as Corporal, was wounded Sept. 19th, 1863 at Battle of Chickamauga, in action at Mission Ridge and was appointed to Sergeant from Corporal on Feb 1st, 1864 and to 1st Sergeant on April 6th, 1864 and mustered out with rest of Company on Nov.
