IDENTIFIED 1/4 PLATE TINTYPE CIVIL WAR SOLDIER and WIFE -MASSACHUSETTS

This is a very nice quarter plate, with unique hanging gutta percha frame. The soldiers name is J. A Wood with the 11 company of 43rd Regiment Massachusetts. The Cartes de Visite of his wife has the places where his battle exploits took place written on the back of it in period writing. Which include, Kingston, Whirsthall, Goldsboro, Deep Gully, Baldwin Pointe, Cheps? The picture of her was taken in New Bern North Carolina November 14th 1862. It is rare to find these pieces still together. If you have the Civil War database, you can look him up and see that the information on the back of his wife's picture correlates perfectly with his military career. I think he was a bookkeeper from somewhere around New Bedford Massachusetts.
