Although this look like an original charcoal drawing it is actually an embellished photograph of a Civil War Soldier and his rifle. He is dressed and a Greatcoat with a cape. Unidentified, this full figured Union Soldier Photograph measures 15 ½" by 19 ½" including the borders. There is some toning to the outside edge, but overall this circa-1864 photograph is in very good condition. It comes under early thin glass in a 26" by 29" gilded frame.

There is some chipping to the gesso on the corners, but the surface is original. A past owner has replaced the wood backboard with a piece of archival cardboard. We are listing this original Civil War Charcoal Photograph without any reserve..
