Loaded Triple Armed Union Soldier Clear Ambrotype Civil War
Here is a great very early-War image of an absolutely loaded Union soldier, probably from New Hampshire. I'm saying that because his pose - crown of the forage cap facing the viewer to show off the brass - was a signature pose for soldiers from the Granite State. As you can see he's got a 7 on the crown, so he's most likely from the 7th New Hampshire Infantry. This clear glass ambro is a sixth-plate in size. Our man is posed with his rifle in one hand and cap in the other. He also has a large revolver stuck in his belt.

A sword hangs from his side to complete the arsenal. What I love is that he has not one but TWO eagle breast plates. One's attached to his cartridge box sling and the other to another sling that might be supporting the aforementioned sword.
