Mint Armed Civil War soldier tintype in thermoplastic case
Here is a really great armed Civil War soldier tintype. This guy is an officer of the 29th New York Infantry.

He's got a "29" in laurels on his kepi and an "NY" belt plate. He is armed with a pistol which hangs off his belt and strikes a confident pose with his arms crossed.

The 29th New York was mostly comprised of Germans and got the nickname "Astor Rifles" or "First German Infantry". This image is 1/9th plate size, no bends, mint condition, in a nice full thermoplastic case. I have no info on who he is but maybe someone can figure it out.
