PAINTED 6" X 8" ca. 1864 CIVIL WAR SOLDIER ID'd WILLIS RAYBURN 166th OH INFANTRY. Circa 1864 Portrait of Union Civil War Soldier in Uniform; Identified on bottom right corner in period pencil manuscript as; "Willis Rayburn". Research indicates that Willis A. Rayburn was enlisted with the 166th Regiment, Ohio Infantry.

Also that he enlisted in May of 1864 and died in Fort Ward Hospital in Virginia in August of 1864. Gouache watercolor, folk art, painted, salt print photograph mounted on paper board with trimmed edges. Approximate exterior mount board edges are 6-3/8" x 8-1/2". Condition: mounting residue on front and back.

Irregular trimmed edges, soiling, staining, and occasional edge wear. Later contemporary pencil written note by previous owner on back. Please see photos for additional condition review.
