1/2 plate ambrotype of a pre civil war soldier

This is a 1/2 plate ambrotype period copy of a photograph of a pre Civil War soldier holding his sword. This ambrotype is definitely old and of the period and appears to be a copy of what was originally an albumen (see the scan of the image without the mat and protector).
