1/6 Daguerreotype Civil War Soldier & Partner Patriotic Case

Original 1/6 daguerreotype of two men, one dressed in military uniform with a star insignia on his collar. He has a small, unusual mustache. Housed in its full original leather case with an eagle on the velvet pad.

Case is 3.75" x 3.25" when closed. Tarnish ring, as shown, and a few mat abrasions up against the mat edges, mostly inside of. If you look carefully, you can see that black line on his cheek.. But I'm not positive, because it appears to turn negative when tilted, and I see no other scratches, swipes.

Dings, or corrosion anywhere else on the plate. Case is in very good condition with light wear to the leather. And the covers are separated along the spine.
