A very nice sixth plate tintype of a bearded Union volunteer. He wears a rather fresh and crisp looking dark blue four-button sack coat with light blue trousers.
He casually holds a Colt pocket revolver in each hand. These were most likely props owned by the photographer. The mans cheeks and buttons were tinted by the photographer. The image is in excellent condition with only some very fine surface crazing and a couple very narrow areas to the left of the mans head where the emulsion has rubbed slightly. Really a nice, clear tintype. It is housed in a full pressed paper case with a repaired hinge. Please see my other items for more interesting and original Civil War pieces.
