A nice sixth plate tintype of this double-armed Yankee infantryman. He holds a M1842 Springfield with fixed bayonet in one hand while in the other he holds a second socket bayonet. He wears a standard infantry frock with a nine-button front.
There are brass insignia on top of his kepi, but the cameras angle makes them impossible to distinguish. The image is housed in a full pressed paper case.
