We have just acquired a massive collection of early photographic images from the estate of a New York doctor. For the past 60 years, he bought and acquired images from antique shops, flea markets and privately, through acquaintances. There are thousands of images that include daguerreotypes, ambro types, tintypes, CDVs, cabinet cards and union cases. These images are fresh to the market, untouched and exactly the way we received them.
We hope you enjoy them as much as the doctor did. Here is a detail rich, cased sixth plate tintype image of a heavily armed, seated Civil War Union Soldier. This rugged, no nonsense soldier is hoisting a military issue musket/rifle in his right hand and holding a field sword in his left. Hes a serious looking fighter! He has a different type of Army-issued belt and buckle. Its in a nice embossed leather wrapped case. PLEASE SEE MORE PHOTOS BELOW!
