1860s FULL PLATE CIVIL WAR TINTYPE OF TRIPLE-ARMED SOLDIER GOLD EMBELLISHED

We have just acquired a massive collection of early photographic images from the estate of a New York doctor. For the past 60 years, he bought and acquired images from antique shops, flea markets and privately, through acquaintances. There are thousands of images that include daguerreotypes, ambro types, tintypes, CDVs, cabinet cards and union cases. These images are fresh to the market, untouched and exactly the way we received them. We hope you enjoy them as much as the doctor did.

Here is a very nice full plate (6 1/2 by 8 1/2) tintype image of a triple-armed U. This bearded young man has a curious stare and a relaxed pose.

He has a pistol tucked into his belt on the right side, a bayonet or bowie knife on his left side and is holding a musket with his left hand. His buttons and buckle have gold tinting.

His cap is slouched to the left side. His leather cross strap completes this image. STATE RESIDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO PAY N.
