This is truly an incredible piece. This is the 1864 journal of Corporal William E Augur of the 7th Connecticut Infantry. He spends most of the year involved with the numerous battles in and around Petersburg. On June 22 he even writes about seeing Abraham Lincoln Ride past my line. This journal was just feet from President Lincoln.
Augur gives great details into the daily lives of the common soldiers of the war. There is writing on every single day of the year.
Dont miss this chance to own an incredible piece of Civil War history. Truly one of a kind. CT; Enlisted on 9/17/1861 as a Private. On 9/17/1861 he mustered into "C" Co. He was Mustered Out on 9/16/1864 Promotions: Corpl 9/1/1862.
