The pages in this book are thick and strong and the book was kept in a safe environemnt for most of its "adult life" so you can flip through all the pages carefree without worrying about pices coming off, not even the extreme edges. The protective "tissue" pages, although spotted, are strong. Message me with any questions and/or for more photos. And if you have any questions or comments, and/or want more photos. Fillmore (Addison Jerome Fillmore, Sr).

Born in NY, died in Illinois. Musician in 17th regiment, Illinois Volunteer Infantry. The town of Fillmore, Illinois is named after his brother, Jerome Fillmore (see final photo). General superintendant of the Southern Pacific railroad. I reaserched Fillmmore and his family on findagrave and google searching.

I found an extensive family at findagrave and also found a reocrd of his transfer to non-com staff on May 25th, 1861, even before the war started, and records of his Union Illinois unit, and the fact that he was a musician. I don't have access this summer to paid military and genealogical databases so I did not find his portrait. However I did find a photo of the 17th regiment band marching in front of the soldiers on a field. I assume one of those musicians is our man, Fillmore. If you go down the rabbit hole researching the Fillmore family, there is a lot of information. I won't spoil your fun by including my rough notes here as I usually do. However, if you know anything about this soldier, please send it along and it will be much much appriciated, especially a photo or engraving of him. I already checked the FB page for his unit and there are photos there, such as the one I included, but no individual picures of Addison J.

Notably, Wyatt Earp's brother was in this unit. You can see other "more notable" members on the FB page. They might be more notable because there is more attainable info on those soldiers in particular i.
