1892 CDV Soldier Henry Spencer, W. G. On Kepi, Possibly Watertown Guard, N. Y

1892 cdv photo of a young (pre-teen) boy wearing a military uniform with two stripes on each sleeve. He is wearing a medal (without ribbon) which has a suspension bar at the top. Also, he is wearing a kepi with a W. We are wondering if this might stand for Watertown Guard?

The cdv has an original inked inscription on the back: Henry Spencer Feb. " The back also has the printed logo of the photographer: "Will Hart's Studio, 15 Marble Block, Watertown, N. This photo was originally found with a small group of photos which had penciled & inked identification & were members of the Spencer family from Watertown, New York & also members of the Harriman family from New York City, N.

So, this young man in military uniform named Henry Spencer was a member of the Spencer family from Watertown, N. The contrast & the clarity are excellent. The cdv has one slight faint age tone line on the right side of the background. Otherwise, this photo is in excellent bright & fresh condition.
