19thC Portrait of a Soldier Fresh from a Maryland Attic. 19thC Civil War Soldier Oil Portrait Painting. This is a Heavily Worn 19thC Oil on Canvas Portrait Painting featuring a Civil War Soldier in Full Uniform with a GAR Medal on his Chest. This old Boy is very badly worn but still deserves a spot in any collection as an authentic 19thC portrait of an unknown Union Soldier, possibly from Maryland. His face still displays nicely and you can make out all of his Eagle Buttons and details but the painting itself is very badly damaged. 1 of 50+ Estate Fresh Items Picked Weekly. There is heavy damage all around to include heavy crazing as well as paint chipping and cracking all around. There are a couple of bad repair to the canvas as well.
