The second has no date or envelope but is signed John Thompson. The letters offer a glimpse into the daily life and struggles of a soldier during the Civil War. The content of the letters covers a range of topics, including updates on the war, personal health, and family matters, as well as the author's high opinion of the city of Louisville.
