In a lot of cases these African American Confederates were slaves. The soldier is wearing his grey double breasted confederate uniform.
The reference number for the case is Berg1-133 and it is classified as a SCARCE case. There is some condition issues with the case (see photos). This is an incredible look into United States history. The photo is a 1/9th plate and measures about 2 x 2.5 inches. The case measures about 2.5 x 3 inches.
