This is an original Civil War soldier's book from 1861 from the 8th Pennsylvania Cavalry Regiment. There is hand writing which identifies the soldier whom this belonged to in the front blank pages, and also notes on cost of equipment and important addresses at the back blank pages.

Visible wear from use and age, but complete and all in tact. Some staining, bumps to corners, etc.
