A rare engraving drawn by Thomas Nast published as the cover page for the January 3, 1863 issue of Harper's Weekly measuring approximately 15 1/4 x 10 3/8 inches as a complete piece behind protective plastic. Nast was the originator of our modern concept of Santa Claus, and he drew most of his classic Santa scenes for Harper's Christmas issues.
