Unsigned, the artist has given us a handsome portrait of a young soldier, possibly an officer during the civil war. Framed and not glazed, the artwork measures approx.

8-1/2" tall by 6-5/8" with a sight size of 6-3/8" by 4-1/2". The frame is later, dating the very early 1900's and bears the K&O mark to the verso.

We are calling it shabby chic due to the bottom post/bar having a restoration that broke again while examining the frame. It will need to be welded back into place, though it really serves no purpose to the frame.
