Pieces had come from a Civil War collector who had a small museum in NC. This was one of the pieces had had acquired from him. This is an marriage certificate for a soldier that served in the Civil War on the 21st Infantry Regiment in Massachusetts.
Included with the marriage certificate are the soldiers tin type photo and his wife's is at the top. The soldier and his wife was married in 1863.
It also comes with the original signed statement from the Reverend for their marriage. That is the 2nd smaller framed piece. The original owner did quite a bit of research for this soldier. It will come with a packet of paperwork; the paperwork was recently printed and not original. That information is copies official records such as Memorandum From Prisoner of War Records, Certificate of Disability for Discharge, etc. The marriage certificate, tin type photos and the sign affidavit are all original from the Civil War era. The marriage certificate and affidavit have wear such as light discoloration and some spotting from age. It is all detailed in pics. The marriage certificate frame measures 11.75"x 16.75" and the Reverend statement measures 11"x 9". Please review pics and feel free to reach out with any questions.
