We are not experts in this field so the less we try to add is probably for the better. For all we know this drum could date earlier than our attribution. Well provide measurements and photographs for you to judge condition. Measures 6 ¼ tall and 7 ¾ wide. Primitive bent veneer tacked side housing.
Natural calf skin hides top and bottom with double-string running across top. Top looks fairly clean while bottom is a bit dirty showing both stains and dirt. Notice one side string is broke while another is frayed nearly to the point of. It doesnt appear that this drum has ever been tampered with as far as anyone attempting to clean it. Drum looks to be in unfettered-aged condition.
We could not find any hallmarks which could properly identify origin or maker. If you know more about this rare and unusual drum we would love to hear from you. Perhaps a museum piece worthy of display. Don't let it slip away! Your satisfaction is guaranteed at Potter Antiques & Collectibles. We never use Stock Photos.
