There are no markings at the base of the blade where the metal meets the handle as is usually seen with these swords. The handle is in decent condition. All of the leather rapping around the handle is present but is slightly torn in some areas. The metal that overlaps the handle is missing the screw that connects it to the base of the handle. There is also a crack and separation on one of the nags guard accents on the handle.
Ere is not very much rust on the blade at all. The edge is still rather sharp considering its age. The blade measures 26 inches in length and is about an inch wide. The length from blade tip to handle butt is 32 inches. The handle measures 5 inches in length and about 5 inches from hand guard to end. The original sheath is still present but it is significantly damaged.
It has been torn into 2 completely separate pieces. The shorter piece is where the sword would enter the scabbard. The longer piece is also bent in the middle and extremely fragile. The tip and base of the sheath is reinforced with metal. The metal appears relatively clean and on the base there is an extension with a button that could be used to mount to scabbard on an article of clothing.
