Framed under glass in its original gilt brass mat, this 3" by 4" quarter plate Tintype comes in a small hanging wood frame.

Our photographs show a lot of very tiny specs which are on the glass and not the photograph. There is a bruise to the tintype just to the left of the soldier's knee. We carefully removed the photograph from the frame and you can see that the mat has left an oval mark. This full figured photograph of a Civil War Cavalry Soldier depicts him dressed with his kepi, jacket, boots and cavalry sword.
