DETAILS: Rare tintype of an African American soldier along with his family. Like many tintypes of this era, it looks to have been hand colored by the photographer for effect. Tintype is hand trimmed measuring approximately 4 3/4" x 6 1/4" inches. There appears to be a name etched on the reverse. CONDITION: Surface has minor wear -- most notable are 5 very small indentations near left edge. They are not easy to see in the gallery images.
