CDV's Tintypes, Cabinet Photos. Civil War Soldiers, Post-Mortem, Virginia VA
Included are two albums containing cdvs, cabinet cards, tintypes and postcards, with a few having backmarks from J. Hill of Bridgewater, Virginia, as well as a photographer out of Staunton, Virginia. There is a half-cased image of a civil war officer, as well as full-cased image of a lady. There is a tintype of what appears to be a soldier that has an insignia on his hat painted gold, as well as a tintype of a girl who appears to be deceased. All-in-all, there are 16 tintypes, and approximately 30 other images (cdv's, cabinet photos, snapshots, and cabinet cards). The albums should be shown no value due to age and condition. They are just holding the collection together. An ebayer asked about the post-mortem image listed in the description. The image which I believe to be a post-mortem is of the little girl sitting in a chair, with her hands crossed. I believe that her eyes are closed, but it is hard to tell now that I have examined it further. The item "CDV's Tintypes, Cabinet Photos.
