The 8 x 3 ptd/ink Affidavit bears the US Revenue stamp, cancelled Dec 28, 1864. Comes w service info for Fowler Steele who is listed as wounded at the fight for Spanish Fort, Alabama, March 28, 1865.

The battle for Spanish Fort and Fort Blakely, Mobile, Alabama was the last major battle of the Civil War. Minor edge wear, age stains, Overall VG.
