An original letter from Captain George W Brown at Holton, Indiana, June 2, 1862 to Sergeant Thomas W Haythorn, thanking him for the letter the Sergeant wrote to Brown's wife who appreciated a kind letter from a stranger, believing him a true and patriotic man and welcomes his visit. Captain Brown reports he is glad to be home, but would rather be with his company and asks Sergeant Haythornto give his regards to the men of Company K. 1p 8 x 11 ink. Edge wear, age spots, Overall VG. Comes w service info- Captain Brown, a Holton, Indiana native served 2 years as commander of company K, 6th Indiana Volunteers.
