An original Civil War Rebel Soldier letter from Samuel Wilson, at "Camp Alice Near Petersburg", Dec 27, 1862 to his sister Mary- he has received her letter of 3 days earlier, is well and grateful she and E. Are also well,, advises her to cut out the woods along the swamp to make a turnip patch in the Spring. Signed "Your Brother as ever, Samuel Wilson". 2pp 8 x 5 ink on brown Confederate paper.
