Civil War Era SOLDIERS DIRK, GAMBLER'S KNIFE or PROSTITUTE'S DAGGER, not certain which title to use but the knife measures 9 7/8" inches long when in the sheath and measured overall, the knife blade is 5 3/4" inches long. I believe the sheath is made from wood and painted black with a silver button with a pelican and 3 babies on it, which could be for Louisiana. It looks a bit shinier in some of the photo's from the flash. It is not broken just scratches and minor wear. The condition of the knife is as shown in the photo's but is tight and not loose.

I think the handle is buffalo horn with silver stud type decoration. There are no packing charges. From a smoke free environment.
