Two tintype photos from the same cdv album measuring approximately 3 1/4 x 2 1/4 and 3 1/4 x 2 3/4 inches for the group in front of house and cabin respectively. Location cannot be determined from other photos with the exception of some cdvs marked Marietta, OH (Cadwallader & Tappen) but the house trim and landscape provides some clues. That photographer did take images as Lookout Mountain after the Battle of Chattanooga so one of those photographers is a possibility. Cabin highly likely to be a temporary itinerant photographer's studio based on the roof opening and canvas to adjust lighting conditions.
A gentleman said the cabin is similar in style to General Grant's cabin and headquarters at City Point, VA. Three officers in the group of five with a dog resting on the porch. The tinting and detail on the cabin tin is incredible.Period graphite en verso probably by the photographer. Last origin Las Vegas, NV.
