For your consideration we have a wonderful 1/4 plate Ruby Ambrotype of a Civil War Soldier. This was found in an Attic with other documents related to the New Hampshire 16th Volunteer Infantry.

This may be first Corporal Alfonzo Davenport who enlisted on September 3, 1862 and mustered out on August 20, 1863, this is the only family member to Serve in the war according to the letters and Documents found in the same trunk. I can not confirm the name as there was no name with this image, but I can give you the provenace of how it was found. There is some sort of speckling above his head which you can see in the photos. The case is worn in the spine as shown.
