Linscott enlisted in Company G, Maine 20th Volunteer Infantry Regiment on August 29, 1862; served as hospital steward, later promoted to Full Corporal. Mustered out on June 15, 1864. Tintype is behind original mat and glass and lightly held to the album page with his and his wife's names written above. I have a positive ID on him based on other family members in the album, including his daughter Emma Ambler and son-in-law.
Dimensions including frame are a little under 3.5" x 2.25"; album page is about 4.75" x 3.5". Condition is excellent with no bends or damage noted.
