CIVIL War Soldier Broadside News Lincoln Election 1864
The Loyal Publication Society was established to bolster support for the War. Patriotic citizens financed broadsides to distribute to the men in the field and camp containing news articles meant to encourage soldiers to re-enlist and support the Government. An Original Complete Broadside issued by the New England Loyal Publication Society, Boston, March 3, 1864 includes articles on the recent Union Army occupation of Florida, the importance of Slave Emancipation in winning the War, and a call for Union men to sustain the Government by the Re-Election of President Abraham Lincoln.
