A fairly common, turn of the century 13 3/4 inch French made clear glass figural bottle depicting a civil war soldier or possibly a French soldier. What makes this example nearly unique is the original glass kepi or hat.
Far more that 99% of these bottles lost the original glass hat. This one retains its hat, albeit with a flat rim chip and several straw marks or raised craze lines. The ground lip also bears some flat flakes and part of the embossed face is distorted by a large, long bubble in the glass.
Embossed DEPOSE S and generall in good shape but for the hat chip. The item "Civil War Soldier Figural French Bottle c1910 with hat/kepi lid 13 3/4" is in sale since Friday, March 10, 2017.
