Original CDV of Charles Stewart Brooks, 5th Cavalry, U. Died of typhoid fever at Fort Monroe, Virginia on July 7, 1862, 21 years old.

Ink inscription including For Mr. Lowther on the back and studio imprint of photographer B. He's buried at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.

CDV is 4" x 2.5" and in excellent antique condition.
