Civil War Soldier Photographs tintype & CDV Daniel M Palmer DOUBLE weapon Rare
We recently acquired a trunk with documents dating back to the 1830s. Among the items was this group which includes two Bibles, and two photos of a Civil War soldier.

The name Daniel M Palmer can be found in both Bibles, and in the back of one of the Bibles that shows that he was at Camp Seward, Auburn, New York and is dated March 4, 1864. In the other Bible, it shows the name Janette Greenfield of Kings ferry, New York, dated December 1866, under the name, Daniel Palmer. The name JEANETTE is written in pencil on the back of the Civil War photo.

In most likelihood this is Daniel M Palmer in the photos and Miss Greenfield was quite possibly his girlfriend. Wonderful CDV with double weapon, pistol in the coat rifle with fix bayonet along side.

You'll get both Bibles and both photos. Be sure to see our other listing of a civil war soldier, David Palmer, quite likely a brother of Daniel.
