PLEASE NOTE: This is ninth plate size. This is one great package with everything going for it. The very young soldier is charismatic and engaging. The glass to the ambrotype looks orange when held to the light. (Ambrotypes are positive images on glass and need black backing in order to be seen; the exception is ruby glass ambrotypes). The case and the mat both have patriotic motifs. CONDITION: Some oxidation on both sides.

"THE UNION AND CONSTITUTION" on front. BACK: One small chip bottom edge. RAILS: Light stress crack at hinge. INNER RAILS: One stress crack at one of the eight corners. Shows just a little wear.
