Civil War Soldier Tintype Ninth Plate
A scarce piece of Civil War history. This Civil War Tintype in a half case features a proud Union soldier seated for perhaps a last portrait.
The photo itself is showing serious signs of age with peeling/cracking, however the image and what it stands for is strong. The daguerreotype is presented within the back half of a Union case under glass. After close examination I do not believe the glass is original to the portrait.
