This listing is for a Civil War era Tintype photo featuring a Uniformed Soldier, possibly an Officer, With his Wife & Sword. They are situated in front of what appears to be a pull-down hand painted background piece, a common prop of the era, but it is interesting to see one brought into the field. The soldier is seated in a chair, his wife standing over his shoulder. He is handsomely dressed, by his uniform I assume he is an officer, though I have not been able to narrow down any specifics.
He could be union or confederate, calvary or officer. They are in front of a large canvas tent that takes up the rest of the background. By this I assume they are in camp, possibly on the front or on the move to the next battle. It is in nice condition for a tintype, and is great for display. The design is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of decor styles. It makes this an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends definitely wont have! A great collectors item, for use display gifting or decor. It is in very good condition for a tintype of its age, with no major damage. There is no creasing, flaking, cracking, or other major damage common in these items. The back even still has its coating in great shape.
