CIVIL WAR UNION ARMY SOLDIER 5th MASS INF REGT. CIVIL WAR UNION ARMY SOLDIER 5th MASSACHUSETTS INFANTRY REGIMENT SOLDIER HENRY G. Residence Woburn MA; a 17 year-old Artist. Enlisted on 9/17/1861 as a Musician. On 9/17/1861 he mustered into Band MA 19th Infantry. He was discharged on 12/31/1861. On 9/16/1862 he mustered into "G" Co. He was Mustered Out on 7/2/1863 at Camp Lander, Wenham, MA. On 12/21/1863 he mustered into Band US Army 2nd B 1st D 2nd AC.

He was transferred out on 8/22/1864. On 8/22/1864 he transferred into "16th" Co. Veteran Reserve Corps 2nd Battn.

He was discharged on 6/24/1865 at Washington, DC. On 9/11/1865 he mustered into US Navy. He was discharged on 4/2/1866. Member of GAR Post # 113 Edward W. After the War he lived in Boston, MA. VERY NICE AUTOGRAPHED INSCRIPTION ON THE REVERSE. NICE METALLIC GOLD PRINTED DOUBLE PIN STRIPE BORDER. PHOTOGRAPHER'S IMPRINT ON THE MOUNT'S REVERSE. ON THE REVERSE IT RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL U. INTERNAL REVENUE 2 CENT PLAYING CARD STAMP WITH PHOTOGRAPHERS HAND PENNED CANCEL.
