An original 1/6th plate tintype in a full case with detached spine of a seated Union Civil War soldier in full uniform holding a pistol in front of himself. The photographer has tinted the buttons on the soldiers uniform with gold and his cheeks have been lightly tinted red. Condition - the image is in excellent condition free of any bends or defects just some minor dust beneath the cover glass. The case has some minor wear and the original spine is detached. Image is completely fresh to the market having recently been discovered in the attic of a very old estate.
